Please comment and let me know what you think? Would it be a good idea from a economic stand point? How about from a moral stand point?
If it were legal would you try it? Would it be a sin if it wasn’t illegal?

Tobacco Alcohol over-prescription of drugs….they all truly kill millions and millions of people throughout the world yearly. Take a look at the statistics. Marijuana is the safest drug in all of man’s existence. I am truly talking real facts. Please, look them up yourself. I suggest that you read “The Emperor Wears No Clothes”. You can get it online due to its public domain status. The author use to bet anyone that if they could prove one fact was incorrect, just one, he would give that $30, 000 dollars.

I agree with Billie. Also, if the government were to make this legal, then it would cut down on billions and billions of dollars each year. Not to mention, if they were to do what California did and allow certain people to grow so much and then tax them for it, and allow them to turn around and sell it to the shops, then they would make a crapload of money for the state in general. California in 2008 made $77 million, all because they allowed so many people to grow, sell, and then taxed them on it. Also, if it were legal, then we wouldn’t have as many deaths, we wouldn’t have to waste money hunting these people down and all that, you would simply have it in a book or wherever u want it in, and then u can simply glance at the list and see who all is growing. In Amsterdam, it is somewhat legal to smoke cannabis there, and only about 4% of the population there smokes. Why you ask, It is because it is not illegal and therefore the kids there are not tempted to try it. The government needs to stop looking at cannabis as a drug because it is not one. It is naturally grown, therefore, it was put here by “God” or whoever you worship. It was not genetically engineered or mixed with other substances to allow it to do what it does. It is a natural plant with a natural chemical called THC which, depending on which strain you were to smoke/inhale/eat, would allow the user to become in a more “mellow” state. There are studies that have proven that this plant can prolong and make some illnesses not as bad later on in life, like alzheimer which causes memory loss, not to be THAT bad when you get around to having it. It also, naturally, helps with pain, so instead of taking these man-made pills that are harmful to you kidneys, stomach, liver, heart, body in general, it won’t do that if you extract the THC from the plant and either make a brownie, some butterspread for your toast or even using a vaporizer, then it won’t be harmful to you at all. I do believe that it should be legalized. I am a toker, and have been since I was 14, and enjoy its affects. Don’t believe me, or Billie there, simply look it up yourself. Cannabis.

Marijuana should be legalized! The only reason it is illegal to begin with is because of a racist attack on blacks and mexicans. I believe it is still this way because the pharmaceutical companies realize what a goldmine they have built and how easy it is to convince some Americans. A good majority of America, unfortunately, believe if the doctor or the government says something it is gospel. I also believe that the prisons would not be overflowing. A certain percent of inmates are only incarcerated due to possession or intent to buy marijuana. How fair do you think it is to be put in prison with rapist and murderers just because of a plant? Most of these people were law biding citizens! If they have to do time, why are they not put in those prisons with corporate criminals? You know, the prisons that seem to be just vacation resorts without the glorious amenities their used to having in daily life? I’m sure the deficit could of been taken care of by now with all the money and property they take from constant drug bust. As far a morality, judging is not up to us! Our creator is the only one just enough to judge anyone!!! I will let you know also that I don’t smoke. I have relatives and friends who do and I support them with all my heart and soul. Our God given rights are being stripped from us daily! We should have the right to do what we want, when we want with our OWN BODY AND MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is smoking pot a sin? Define sin. EVERYTHING we do is a sin! We are natural born sinners. Isn’t that why Jesus Christ died on the cross for us? Okay, so we are not supposed to do anything to harm our bodies. Did you have a piece of toast for breakfast this morning? You did! You sinner! White flour is SO BAD for our bodies! Did you drive your car to work? You did! You sinner! Not only is that bad for your lungs, but also extremely bad for the earth in general. Asking if smoking pot is a sin is so silly and pointless. Yes, it should be legalized and taxed. Look at the revenue from tabacco taxes! Seems logical to me.

Jesus did die for our sins but let us not forget: Romans 6:1-2 “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?”
We are forgiven of our sins but that doesn’t mean we should not avoid sin. I don’t think everything we do is sin.
I think there are some grey areas as far as what we choose to consume. Pot does have medicinal benefits and I doubt the negative effects are as bad as many claim. I agree that white flour is bad and I avoid it. However I don’t consider it a sin if I consume it on occasion. I believe God wants us to respect our bodies and we can do that without being legalistic about it.
My thoughts in regards to pot being a sin was more along the lines of becoming drunk which is a sin.
Ephesians 5:18 (New Century Version)
Do not be drunk with wine, which will ruin you, but be filled with the Spirit.
It is currently a sin as of now because it is illegal. If it was not illegal I think I would give it a shot.

I think that even though marijuana is a drug it is not as bad as tobacco use nowadays and i think that if it was legalize it wouldn’t harm anyone as bad as cigarettes is doing with cancer. Marijuana is herbal and it is in study for medicine and can be used for much more than just that.

GOD 1st!!
i believe marijuana should definetly not be legalized!!the only reason people want it to be legalized so they could keep feeling that feeling, i smoke weed b4, im not gonna lie but i did like that feeling alot. BELIEVE IT OR NOT I BELIEVE THAT ITS THE ROAD TO HELL! I REMEMBER I WAS SO HIGH AND THERE WAS THIS VOICE IN MY HEAD(I BELIEVE IT WAS A SPIRIT) IT WAS TELLING ME CONSTANTLY “THIS IS THE ROAD TO HELL” THAT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER! then Jesus saved me and my life is changed, weed is so not worth going to hell. you people could believe me or not but one day im pretty sure an experience like this is going to happend to you!!

For some people I am sure it can lead them down the wrong path and that might be the case for you. But that doesn’t mean that is the case for everyone. Again I speak as if it became legalized.
I believe there are some black and white sins defined in the Bible but this is one of those grey areas.

Marijuana is a very useful drug in deed but its best eaten and applied to the skin, not smoked?, out body works hard to clean and filter air to prevent the entry of these types of things. So make medicins yes but please spare the the lungs.
if they wanted to take you to jail because you are “black” they could just come and put you in there, and nothing could be done to reverse that, if they would so chose.

@Martin
I think we all understand how marijuana is best used from a medical standpoint. Studies suggest marijuana does NOT cause lung cancer, but I think more research is needed regarding other types of cancers/diseases.
My issue is that we are spending a ton of money fighting a war on marijuana, when it’s really not accomplishing anything. Law enforcement would be better off chasing real criminals. Our prisons should be filled with real criminals, not potheads.
Like a previous commenter said, we will never be able to stop it. Marijuana is a plant that’s been cultivated for thousands of years. My opinion is to legalize it and make regulations for proper use based on research (e.g. how does it affect driving?).

@Andrew
I like that, but we still want to consider several things, regulations cost money, and all filters get clogged, studies have proven that the worst marijuana can do for you is by smoking, the most effective is drinking and in the country im from, most herbal medicines are administer this way and also by application directly to the skin.
But do consider this, that the entire thing was all started from a economical and social stand point not a health concious one. secondly, could “MONEY” be the culprit again?, you control the drug trade you control the money. or another vice to keep the lower class suppressed, alchole is detrimental, associated with prostitution, driving accidents, murders… food for thought.Personaly i think alcohol is far more degrading and damagine to the society than marijuana.
(See cocain, lsd, acid) Do you ever wonder why with all the crack down even through out the americas that so much drugs enter the US, i hope i dont get in trouble for saying.
Its funny that the time the government lets in on legalizing the drug is in the belly of a recession. Am i missing something here? i dont know the objective but im sure it will distract some people from the main issue, could be a mis-direction. I wouldnt be surprise if you see this patern rolling over the world in the low season, Stay Sharp
